Being fond of both blues and greens, the Timberline paper packet is one of my favorites from the Spring/Summer Close to My Heart Idea book. Let's take a look at the layout that I created using papers from the collection. The pictures have been put aside so that you can get a closer look at all of the details. It is a simple layout yet features some fun embellishment tricks that make the elements pop! Let's first focus on the title. This is one of my current favorite ways to draw attention to a title and it is so easy to do. It is simply the title word "adventure" cut from two contrasting colors at exactly the same size. The two layers are then simply offset on the page to add depth and interest. The word was cut using an image in the Artbooking Cricut Collection.
My next favorite element is the burlap ribbon that has been woven with pieces of one of the zip strips from the top of the patterned paper! Again, it was simple yet is another fun way to create your own embellishment. I cut the burlap to size and then pulled 5 or 6 strings from the center of the ribbon. This resulted in a section wide enough to weave the zip strip in and out of the burlap. I kept the pattern random rather than counting each little string and the effect is fun and different! Once the zip strip was in place, I cut one end of the burlap into a banner shape and adhered the entire piece to my pages.
The last few embellishments are simply small clusters of Durable Triangle Studs and Brown & Tan Sparkles. Note that they are simply sprinkled around the page yet add just the right amount of sparkle to the layout. There are also a few wooden bits from the Timberline Assortment. The loose weave of the burlap made it simple to add some of the long pin embellishments. Enjoy!
